Landscape Photography in the Pacific Northwest

Peter Lik Landscape Photography on Mt. Baker

In late September Peter traveled to Mount Baker in Northern Washington, just south of the Canadian border. Pete and his crew arrived at Mount Baker just before the entire region was hit with the first snow fall of the winter. This provided the perfect opportunity for Peter capture some incredible images of this serene and secluded area.

His goal with the shoot was to capture the sunrise but due to weather conditions it was unfortunately difficult to see. Peter spent about 4 hours waiting in the snow for the perfect shot. Though the sunrise was a disappointment the landscape was quite impressive, when the mist cleared, providing the perfect opportunity to for Peter to capture some incredible landscape photography.

No surprise to see Peter capturing another great image despite the original idea not quite materialising. A great lesson for all photographers out there, grab your gear & go get the shot, but be prepared to capture an opportunity not quite expected... Keep it up Peter - great stuff & thanks for sharing this sort of information, inspiring & helpful to say the least - love the new website too ! So good to be able to see many more of your exqusite photographs online...

I first saw some of Peter Lik's photographs when I was in Las Vegas. I have been a huge fan ever since. This is another great example of why.

I saw Peter's pics in the Venetian for the first time ever. There was one pic of sunset that I just sat in front of for at least 15 mins and felt a sense of bliss!!! Amazing photography and very inspiring!!! I wish I could own one but can't afford it, but I sure enjoy seeing those pics where ever I can.
